I was born in Lafayette, LA (land of the Ragin Cajuns) and moved to northwest Houston at a young age. I graduated from Tomball High School in 2004 and from LSU with a degree in Kinesiology in 2008. I decided to take some time off and travel to Africa for 3 months to work in an Emergency Room in Nairobi, Kenya and an orphanage just outside the city. This reignited my desire to pursue my dream of becoming a doctor and I went on to Colorado State University to get my masters in Biomedical Science. Later that year I was accepted to medical school, and in 2011, I started at Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine.
I rotated at Texas A&M|Christus Spohn Emergency Medicine Residency in my third year of medical school and not only did that month convince me that I really liked the program here, but more importantly it led me to a career in emergency medicine. Match day arrived and I couldn’t have been happier with the result.
In my free time, my wife and I like to go camping and kayaking or bouldering at the gym (yes, there is a bouldering gym in Corpus). I enjoy pretty much anything outdoors or fitness related. If it’s physically challenging, then I will probably like it. As for my career interests, I plan on pursuing a fellowship in International Medicine and get back to the roots of why I chose medicine in the first place. I can’t wait to use my position as a doctor to spread my faith and help people not only physically, but spiritually.
