Medical School: University of Texas - San Antonio
Undergraduate School: Texas Christian University
I was born in Los Angeles, California but moved to Texas as fast as I could. Spending my childhood and teen years in the small Texas town of Joshua, I came to value the importance of community and helping others. When it was time to go to college I decided to continue the family tradition and make the short move to Fort Worth to be come a Horned Frog at Texas Christian University. It quickly became clear that the sciences were for me, and I joined a pre-medical society. I never looked back.
At the tender age of 23, my wife and I loaded a truck bound for Medical School (for me) and Law School (for her) in San Antonio. During my time in medical school I enjoyed most of my rotations, which is why Emergency Medicine was such an easy choice for me to make. Some would say that Emergency Physicians have to know a little bit about most medical specialties, but the truth is that we have to know a lot about all of the specialties. That is exactly why Texas A&M|CHristus Spohn Emergency Medicine is so awesome. Since the hospital has only one other residency program, the training experience is unparalleled. The opportunities for procedures and patient care as well as the direct interaction with both private and academic physicians makes our residency program the best.
On my days off, my wife and I enjoy watching TCU win at football, taking our golden retriever to the beach, and chillaxing with the other residents. Corpus Christi has so much to offer in the way of outdoor activities that the residents are always doing something awesome together. Kayaking, fishing, sharking, hunting, camping, disc golf, boating, sailing, paddle boarding, surfing, bouldering, biking, extreme sand volleyball, flounder gigging, and skimboarding. What more could you want?
